I’m from Missouri and proud of it. We Missourians take great pride in being from “The Show Me” state. It makes us sound all skeptical, scientific, and demanding of evidence before we’ll believe something. If only that were the case. In fact, the phrase got its start because people from Missouri were considered to be slow and stupid and hence, in need of having things showed to them. Duhh….Fortunately, the origin of the phrase isn’t widely known, unless of course you’re reading my blog.
