- Rainbows on those days when the rain falls gently in transparent curtains but the sun shines through
- The smell of pine and eucalyptus when I go out to get the newspaper in the morning and the smell of wood smoke at night
- Crazy mushrooms erupted out of our lawn like bizarre yard ornaments
- Daffodils and apple blossoms in February
- Snow on top of Mount Diablo
- Deep clear blue skies after a major storm has swept through
- Wearing a hat, gloves and scarf but not really needing them
- Sweet oranges and smooth skinned avocadoes from friends’ trees
- Sleeping with the window open
- Eating lunch outside on our southern deck with my back to the sun
- Walking on the bike trail at high noon on a windless day
- Rejoicing that I don’t live in Boston any more!
